Jeff Weaver
Drawing and painting have been life-long pursuits for J. Weaver. He was a student at the Museum School in Boston. He spent much time on the waterfront rendering the local scenery in various media. For over 30 years, weathered houses, packing plants, fishing boats and those who work with them, have all served as subject matter for his art.He paints in a representation style utilizing strong light and dark values, lines and animated brushwork to create dynamic compositions. He has combined these pictorial elements with his interest in local maritime history in his recent series of paintings depicting the rigors of 19th and early 20th century dory fishing in the North Atlantic.
